Benjamin Wood began his career as an investigator in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked for the criminal defense firm of Simon & Unger Investigations.  Through this firm he worked on multiple death penalty cases, including the “night stalker” case of Richard Ramirez.

From the Bay Area he moved to Southern California, where he met his wife Jennifer.  In 1997, they formed their company, which at that time focused primarily on Title IX claims.  In 2000, they relocated to Colorado to begin their family and are now the very proud parents of four children.

Since 2000, they have refocused their practice on criminal defense.  During their tenure in Colorado, they have been remarkably successful in each of their endeavors, which is reflected on our “notable cases” page.

When not working, Ben enjoys time at the gym, running, cycling and traveling.  But there is nothing he enjoys more than spending time with his family on their many beach adventures.

Jennifer Wood is a native of Colorado, who attended  the University of Montana.  Following college, and then several months traveling the world, she landed in Southern California where she met her husband Ben. 

Jennifer is the heart of the company, managing the daily operations.  Jennifer is a second generation business owner,  following in the steps of her parents, she oversees business development while addressing the many daily tasks required to maintain a smooth operation of the business.

 In addition to this, she has devoted considerable time to raising her four children.  She developed and oversaw two afterschool running programs, engaging with her staff of volunteers and close to 100 kids in each program.  Additionally, she helped develop a school-wide running race, which remains an annual event and a highlight of the year!

Running has always been central in her life, but in addition to that Jenny enjoys yoga, hiking and family gatherings.  Like Ben, she most enjoys traveling with her family and experiencing new cultures.

Sante Wood only recently joined his parents in their endeavors.  Prior to joining Wood & Associates Sante worked as a certified personal trainer.  Although passionate about exercise, Sante found the sales aspect of the personal training profession not to his liking.  Following personal training, Sante worked for a couple of years as a commercial electrical apprentice.  He enjoyed learning and using his hands in this field but ultimately he was drawn towards investigations and joined Wood & Associates in 2024.

Having been raised by parents who operate an investigative business, Sante joined with the advantage of years of observation.  He is excited to now place those observations into practice and has been a driving force within the business.

Like his parents, Sante's personal time is often focused on personal health and development.  He can generally be found in the gym each morning before work.  Sante is also an avid watersports enthusiast, enjoying wake surfing, but preferring actual surfing on his many ocean trips.  Additionally, Sante, who is a certified lifeguard, volunteers his time with Expand Boulder, an adaptive waterski program.
